The house

Ordinary men. A serious walk.

The book is Wes Hart’s. The table is Wes and Jonathon Hale’s. The work is yours.

Wes Hart

Author · salesman · husband · father of two

Wes Hart is a husband and the father of a boy and a girl. His working hours are in enterprise sales. His best hours are at a table with other men.

He did not set out to write a book or run a training. He set out to stop being the passive husband and distracted dad he had quietly become. A handful of older men kept a chair for him every week. Years later he started keeping chairs for other men. Steadfast Men began at a kitchen table with a few skeptical guys. It has since been taught in living rooms, garages, and church classrooms to men in every season of life.

He is not a pastor and not a counselor, and he is quick to say so. He is a layman who believes ordinary men, walking together under the Word of God, can become the husbands, fathers, and brothers their houses are starving for. When he is not working or writing, he is usually outside with his kids, on a long walk with his wife, or at a diner early on a weekday with a Bible, a cup of coffee, and one other man.

Jonathon Hale

Builder · husband · father of four

Jonathon Hale keeps the table with Wes. He is a husband and the father of three boys and a girl, none of them past middle school. He served, then came home and learned a trade. He is a general contractor now. The work is frames, slabs, and the kind of Tuesday that does not care how a man feels.

He did not write the book. He is the man across the wood who asks the second question. Wes names the act. Jonathon asks whether it got done. He knows what it is to leave one kind of service and still be responsible for the people under his roof. On the show he will not let a story stay in the air.

When the mics are off he is usually in a truck between jobs, or home before the kids are down.
