The measure

Four marks. No fifth for the brand.

A steadfast man stops waiting, picks up the weight, goes first, and works for God’s pay, not the room’s.

God’s pay is a Father’s inheritance, not wages.

01

Stop Waiting

The good thing is already on the table. A better mood will not start it. Do it today, before you feel like it.

“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.” James 4:17 NIV

02

Pick Up the Weight

Somebody else may have set it down. The load still has your name on it. Carry what is yours, including the part you hoped would fix itself.

“For each one should carry their own load.” Galatians 6:5 NIV

03

Go First

Your people are watching to see who moves. A title will not move them. Step out ahead, into the prayer or the hard talk, scared or not.

“When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.” John 10:4 NIV

04

Work for God’s Pay

If you need the room to clap, you will quit when it goes quiet. God’s pay is a Father’s inheritance. It is not a wage that earns His favor.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24 NIV
